I’m deeply involved with our state and local tax practice, and my main role is leading the firm’s National Tax Office’s state and local tax due diligence group. My clients in the manufacturing and service industries rely on me to help with concerns related to state income, franchise, sales and use, gross receipts, and property tax requirements, whereas my private equity clients in the transaction space look to me to help navigate any SALT liabilities and filing responsibilities as part of their acquisitions and sales.
My clients appreciate my timely response to their needs. My recommendations add value and address their concerns. Around the office, I’m known for my love of animals, especially my dog, Skylar, and the joy a round of golf gives me. I’m always available to help colleagues with questions.
After starting my career in public accounting, I was drawn to SALT due to the complexities that exist when applying facts and circumstances to varying state rules and regulations. The diversity that SALT provides keeps me interested in the profession.
With 15 years of experience in public accounting, my greatest accomplishment was getting my CPA upon returning to college after 10 years in the industry. I’m a member of the AICPA, the MICPA, and the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce. I serve on the MICPA State & Local taskforce and speak on tax due diligence and other topics at conferences and on webinars. I received a B.B.A. from Grand Valley State University.
My interests outside of work include spending time with friends and family, golfing, grilling, and enjoying the company of my dog; most of my time is spent with her and a select group of friends and colleagues. When golf season ends, I enjoy entertaining and hosting events at my home during football season.
