I lettered in badminton in high school. Who knew that was a conference sport?

Experience

I serve clients and engagement teams with both internal and external audit services for financial institutions, including SEC registrants; mortgage companies; specialty finance companies; trust and asset managers and advisers, including surprise custody examinations; investment companies, including private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, hedge funds and alternative asset funds; and broker-dealers.

Additionally, as the industry technical leader for our financial services and investment company practices, I stay current on new accounting pronouncements and regulatory requirements to help our clients stay up to date on changes in the accounting and regulatory environments while also maintaining a client base of my own. The dual nature of this role helps ensure I have the perspective needed to effectively serve clients and our engagement teams.

With more than 10 years’ experience, I pride myself on ensuring our audit approach is developed with both adherence to professional standards and the client experience. I regularly interact with our central standards department while working to ensure the engagement teams and clients we serve are positioned to meet financial reporting requirements without undue burden.

Recently, I spent time sharing insights on CECL through presentations to the Financial Managers Society, a regional office of the FDIC, and webinars for clients and colleagues of the firm. I’ve co-authored several firm-published articles to serve as guides for our clients as they implement new standards and navigate the changing regulatory environment. I earned my B.S. in accounting and finance from Millikin University and belong to the AICPA.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me outdoors. I enjoy hiking and backpacking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, going on walks downtown with my golden retriever and Labrador, and expanding my native flowers and garden as much as possible on my 0.09 acre lot.
