As a member of Chicagoland’s real estate and construction practice, I advise my clients on complex accounting matters specific to real estate and construction such as consolidation, revenue recognition, lease accounting, impairment and joint venture accounting considerations. I primarily serve residential and commercial real estate clients and private equity real estate funds that specialize in the development and leasing of land, hospitality, retail, senior living, industrial and multiuse properties, as well as general and specialty trade contractors and engineering firms.
My clients appreciate that I develop strong relationships and provide trusted expertise when complex issues arise. My colleagues appreciate the passion and energy I bring to work every day and my willingness to work with our younger staff. I enjoy helping them develop the skill sets needed to succeed at Plante Moran.
With more than 10 years’ experience with the firm, I’m often asked to speak to clients, their boards, and at association meetings about many topics including current industry issues, revenue recognition, business combinations, and succession planning. I’m a member of the Construction Financial Management Association, the Chicago Building Congress, and the Great Lakes Contractors Association. Within my community, I belong to the young adults board at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. RE Journals has recognized me as a CRE Future Leader. I earned my B.S. in accounting and business pre-law from Ohio University.
My wife, Katie, and I have two little boys and a third baby on the way. The majority of my time away from the office is spent with them, whether we’re swimming, at the park, or playing with Legos. I also enjoy golfing and cooking.
