While I primarily work with property and casualty companies, I also work with companies in several other areas of the insurance industry, such as warranty, life, health, title, risk retention pools, and agencies. I’m also involved in our SEC practice, where I provide audit services for publicly traded clients. In addition to assurance engagements, I provide due diligence, risk management, and internal audit services.
I was attracted to a career in public accounting because of the variety of the work. Each day allows me to tackle new tasks and challenges and work with multiple clients and engagement teams. My clients appreciate that I’m dedicated to providing excellent client service by always being timely, technical, and transparent. Clients see me as their trusted advisor because of my responsiveness, strong technical skills, and ability to connect with them on a personal level. Around the office, I’m known for having a positive attitude, working well with my coworkers, and being a successful team builder.
With more than 15 years of professional experience, I’m proud to have helped develop the insurance practice here in Chicago by building a client base and strong team. I’m a member of the firm’s professional standards team, where I serve as the industry technical specialist for the insurance group. I belong to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association. I regularly speak to clients and their boards about new and upcoming accounting pronouncements, industry regulations, and current trends. I received my B.S. from Marquette University with a double major in accounting and finance.
My wife, Colleen, and I have four young children. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching our kids grow. If I’m not playing games with my kids, you can likely find me out on the golf course.
