Although I specialize in audit and advisory services, I’m more than a CPA. I help clients achieve their strategic goals and resolve a variety of business issues. In short, I help them make money — and then I help them keep it. Most often clients choose to leave their CPA firm because the firm is not proactive to their needs — we don’t allow that to happen at our firm. I am an expert at leveraging the firm’s resources for the benefit of our clients.
I work closely with family- and foreign-owned businesses in manufacturing. I also work in the public sector, including municipalities, special government entities, water and wastewater utilities (I’m our #1 person in the “#2” business), and airports.
I serve as the Cincinnati office managing partner. In addition I’m the regional leader of our municipal practice and I participate on the steering committee for our regional Japanese business services practice. Lastly, I co-lead the firm’s national airport practice.
I’ve been with Plante Moran for almost 30 years, and I’m passionate not only about bringing value to our clients, but also about helping my team members achieve their goals. Each year we have a firm conference to celebrate the accomplishments of the firm and spotlight our new partner promotions. My goal is to be thanked in as many new-partner acceptance speeches as possible—my current tally is 13 and counting.
When I’m not in the office, I’m interacting with the community. I have a strong connection to the University of Cincinnati, where I’ve served as an adjunct professor at the Lindner College of Business and was a former board of advisors member of the Goering Center for Family and Private Business. I am also on the Accountancy Board of Advisors at the University of Dayton. I’m on the Board of Trustees for the First Tee of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and I am the current president of the Board of Trustees of the Heritage Country Club.
I’m a member of the AICPA, the Michigan Association of CPAs, and the Ohio Society of CPAs. I hold a B.B.A. with high distinction from the University of Michigan.
I enjoy spending as much time as I can following my teenage sons' sports and activities as well as taking vacations with them to catch the annual MLB Home Run Derby and to hunt. When they’re busy, you can find me on the golf course.
