With more than 20 years of accounting and auditing experience, I advise public sector and NFP clients and keep them up to date on accounting and grants compliance developments that allow them to respond to industry challenges and changes.
Additionally, I lead the firm’s growth and engagement efforts specific to grants compliance. As a leader in grants compliance, I ensure that public sector and NFP clients can navigate the unprecedented volume of new and existing federal funding. I enjoy providing innovative leadership and practical solutions to compliance requirements. My strong working relationships with federal agencies make it easy for me to get quick answers to complex technical questions. Because of my grants compliance expertise, I present at conferences sponsored by the AICPA, state CPA societies, GFOA and various industry groups. In May 2023, I completed a three-year term with the AICPA’s Governmental Audit Quality Center’s (GAQC) executive committee.
One of my favorite contributions has been mentoring staff. Coaching younger people is one of my passions. It’s inspiring to watch people I’ve developed as they plan for and meet their own personal and professional goals.
The MICPA Women’s Initiative Task Force selected me as a recipient of its 2017 Emerging Leader Award, an award given to professionals who have made significant contributions to the accounting profession and the community. In 2017, I was also one of the Michigan Chronicle’s Women of Excellence honorees.
I’m a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), the National Grants Management Association and the Wayne State University Mike Ilitch School of Business Board of Visitors where I serve as the student experience and outcomes committee chair. I received my B.S. in business administration with a major in accounting and my M.B.A. from Wayne State University.
Outside of work, I spend time relaxing with family and friends or mentoring teens and young adults.
