The challenge
The Marquette County Medical Care Facility (MCMCF) provides long-term and rehabilitation services to residents of Marquette County, located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. MCMCF engaged Plante Moran Living Forward (PMLF) to provide the resources and expertise to help plan and successfully complete the construction of a new 12-unit, 16,000 SF rehabilitation center with a gym and serving kitchen, renovations throughout the facility, and new parking lots.
The solution
PMLF worked with MCMCF from strategic planning through occupancy to help MCMCF understand consumer demand and expectations and develop a reasonable budget and pro forma for the proposed project. As MCMCF’s owner’s representative, PMLF facilitated the bidding process for the development team and monitored the project’s budget and schedule throughout design and construction.
The benefit
Despite a shortened construction season due to the climate of the area and remote location that added logistical challenges to the project, MCMCF’s project was completed on time and on budget with the guidance of PMLF’s experienced owner’s representatives.
