School is in session at North Hills and South Hills Middle Schools, two recent additions to Bloomfield Hills Schools (BHS) in Bloomfield, Mich. A client of Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, BHS proudly unveiled its brand-new campuses with ribbon cutting ceremonies at the beginning of the school year.
The district first announced district-wide renovations and upgrades following the passage of its $200 million bond in 2020, a portion of which funded both the North Hills and South Hills projects.
North Hills Middle School
Formerly Lahser High School, North Hills Middle School features more than 98,000 square feet of renovated spaces, including a renovated gymnasium, auditorium, cafeteria, band and orchestra rooms, and offices. About 88,000 square feet of new construction was added, encompassing learning communities for the sixth- through eighth-grade levels, special education classrooms, and a second-floor learning community area. The site also received parking lot upgrades.
South Hills Middle School
Formerly Bloomfield Hills Middle School, South Hills Middle School features more than 114,000 square feet of renovated spaces and 40,000 square feet of new construction. The renovated features include an upgraded front office; counselor offices in grade-level hallways; a special education suite with a private courtyard; three common collaborative areas; updated ventilation and HVAC systems; technology, safety, and security upgrades; updated flooring; science labs; 12 alternative furniture classrooms; and flexible dividing walls in several classrooms. The new construction includes a state-of-the-art cafetorium, a new music wing for band and orchestra, a new drama classroom, and storage areas.

Plante Moran Realpoint is the owner's representative for BHS’s $200 million bond program. PMR worked with the district during the bond information campaign, facility assessments, enrollment projections, capital planning, design, and construction of each project.
