It is with great pleasure that commercial real estate consulting firm Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, affiliate of public accounting and business advisory firm Plante Moran, welcomes three new staff to the firm.
All three will join the program management team, which offers comprehensive capital planning, owner’s representation, design and construction oversight, move management, and project closeout services to both public and private sector clients.
About James Britton, PMP
James Britton, PMP, joins the firm as a senior consultant out of the Southfield, Mich., office. He will primarily serve the public sector by leading capital improvement programs that help clients develop and implement facility plans supporting their missions. He brings to the team experience in working with local and state governments, museums, and corporate organizations. Prior to PMR, James worked at CBRE as a project manager.
James graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in construction management. He is currently finishing his MBA program at Wayne State University with a focus in corporate management. James is designated as a PMP (Project Management Professional), which is the gold standard of certification for project leadership experience and expertise.
About Doug Phillips, LEED AP
Doug Phillips, LEED AP, joins the firm as a senior vice president out of the Kalamazoo, Mich., office. He is responsible for the team’s overall performance and service providing capital project delivery for clients in the west Michigan region.
In Doug’s 30-year career in facility program management, he has worked a variety of roles, ranging from owner's representative to project engineer, project manager, and business development director for Fortune 500 companies, large international construction firms, and regional construction and development companies. He’s served clients in the K-12 and higher education, healthcare, government, aviation, commercial office, and retail industries.
Doug, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), has his Bachelor of Science in construction management from Western Michigan University and an OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health Certification. He is a board member of Kalamazoo Communities in Schools and Goodwill Industries of Southwest Michigan.
About Anthony Thomas, PE
Anthony Thomas, PE, joins the firm as a senior vice president out of the Southfield, Mich., office. With more than 28 years of expertise and experience in infrastructure renewal and replacement, Anthony helps owner teams successfully manage the complex process of planning and implementing their multi-million-dollar, multi-year infrastructure programs.
Prior to joining PMR, Anthony worked in consultant engineering as a project engineer, project manager, and regional office manager for an ENR top 500 engineering firm. His focus was in the Midwest, providing services to the energy, utility, municipal, water/wastewater, K-12, higher education, commercial, industrial, and transportation markets.
Anthony has a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Michigan State University. He also has his Professional Engineer (PE) License in Michigan. He devotes significant time to the ACE Mentoring program in southeast Michigan and the Capstone senior design program for civil engineers at Michigan State University.
