Plante Moran Realpoint helps Ypsilanti Public Schools save $1.2 million during $52 million capital improvements

The challenge

Ypsilanti Public Schools initially partnered with Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, for consulting and a feasibility assessment. A review of its current facility needs helped the District understand the scope of work necessary and the appropriate bond amount required to complete the work.

When the District decided to move forward with much-needed renovations to its aging facilities and the addition of new facilities, it subsequently contracted PMR as project manager. Our team became an experienced, knowledgeable supplement to the District's staffing resources during planning, design, construction, move management and building commissioning, and project closeout for its projects.

The solution

As project manager, PMR facilitated the District's building improvements and new construction. Our team also determined methods for upgrading technology and transportation operations.

The benefit

As a result, PMR saved the Ypsilanti Public School district more than $1.2 million in the first 12 months of the project.
