Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Allendale, Mich., is a public liberal arts university serving more than 20,000 students each year. GVSU engaged Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, to lend our team’s resources and extensive higher education capital project knowledge to improve and document its capital project delivery processes.
Plante Moran Realpoint came on board ready to begin a prompt, thorough review of current processes to ensure their completeness and accuracy prior to refinement.
Our team coordinated and facilitated discussions between the university’s architect, contractor, and internal customers to begin memorializing current project delivery processes. With the current system identified, our team distilled the process into sequential steps, adjusting for best practices, and redeveloping the process to better reflect the needs of GVSU over time.
Plante Moran Realpoint offered extensive capital project management knowledge to synthesize a variety of perspectives and sources into basic guidelines to move forward. In addition, we afforded the university additional resources to assist the staff with the project while fulfilling their full-time, day-to-day responsibilities.
